Summer and strawberries is linked together. In Denmark we grow up with strawberries with whipping cream on as a dessert. A simple dish that any dane knows. If you have a garden full of strawberries, there are often so many strawberries at the same time that you simply can not eat them. Recipe with video - Pecan nuts was not something I was used to growing up in Denmark. I only first tasted them when visiting Danish friends working in USA a little over 20 years ago. They made a pecan pie recipe they had gotten from their neighbors. And that mild walnut flavor tested just right for me. It is also one of the best nuts to caramelize.

Video Recipe - The classic home copy of the baker truffles and rum balls. I do not like the almond extract that is traditionally used. So I use a little marzipan instead. And yes. That is grandmother Marie from the family who gave her name to the recipe. She most likely has the recipe from some womens magazine. But I do not want to dig too much into that. For large homemade ice cones the cones should obviously be homemade. I considered buying a waffle iron for this, but they make too small cones. Then I tried doing them in the oven, but it was hard to control the final result. Now I make them on a pan. They are only slightly more difficult to make than normal pancakes, and they require almost the same equipment.

The Celebrations cake is one of the very best cakes there is. We often eat it at new year's eve and for weddings, communions, birthdays, etc. My baker father in law, Kurt, bakes the best version of this cake I've ever had. There are few cakes that look as inviting as Macarons. Baby chocolate "burgers" with cream in the middle. In various colors even. They are not as difficult to bake as they might seem, and they are a great addition on any coffee table. Or as an accompaniment to a dessert.
