Mix the eggs and the milk with a fork in a pan that has room enough for at least 2 slices of bread.
Put in the slices of bread and let them soak up as much egg mass as possible. For as long as 5 minutes.
Fry the toasts in plenty butter in a medium hot pan. Do no let the butter burn.
Serve with syrup. Maybe even a small piece of butter. And cinnamon, and fruit ... and ...
You can use cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, jam, liquid caramel, chocolate sauce, syrup, sugar, fruit, or whatever else you have of "liquid sweets".
But french toast need not be eaten with only sweet accessories.
Fish or fresh vegetables are also good as an accessory. Almost healthy even. Good examples are smoked trout, salmon or mackerel. tomato Salsa, guacamole. avocado slices, etc., etc.
It is also very nice for a breakfast instead of American pancakes. And a whole lot easier.
