Cinnamon Sugar Toast
Cinnamon Sugar Toast - Poor Knights
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 25 g (1 oz) butter
- 2 slices white bread
Turn on the oven grill. Keep the door ajar.
Knead the sugar, cinnamon and butter to a creamy consistency.
It is easiest if the butter is soft to begin with.
Put the bread under the grill. Keep a distance of 5-10 cm (2-4 inches).
The further away it is from the grill, the more uniform will be, and there is less risk of burned areas, but it also takes longer.
Give it about 5 minutes. When it bubbles uniformly all over and the bread is golden at the edges, it is finished.
If it begins to smoke, then take them out immediately.
When they are cooled and the sugar form a hard crust, you know they are perfect.
You can use just ½ teaspoon cinnamon.
You cannot just sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top of the butter instead of mixing it in. There will not be enough sugar, and it will not taste as good.
