Home Fries - Brased Potatoes - Bratkartoffeln

Video Recipe - I have been eating home fries since I was a kid. We had it the traditional "Danish style" with just potatoes, fat for frying, salt and pepper. For the last few years though, I have acquired a taste for the German version "Bratkartoffeln" with onion and bacon.

A powerful and tasty pepper sauce. It has a beautiful rich color and can be used for almost all dishes where you would otherwise use tomato sauce. I have two versions of the same recipe here. The basic sauce is fine in itself and has a stronger pepper flavor. The creamy is more luxurious and delicious.
Hollandaise sauce
Video Recipe - One of the most classic sauces. Often used for fish and chicken. It ss always a hit. And as it is made ​​almost entirely of butter the consistency never fails. It can be a little tricky until you get the hang of it, but when you have learned to make it, it is one of the quickest and easiest sauces to make at all.
Bouquet Garni

I do not think you can make a recipe more simple than that and then get something edible out of it, that can be called a cake. For me, this is the "Ground Zero" of the cakes. Where it all starts. All other cakes are variations of it. Well ok. That is perhaps not the entirely right, but it only takes 5 minutes to bake, and can be eaten with jam or other sweet spreads.

Homemade soy milk

Fake soup stock inspired by miso
I love soup and a good stock/broth, and do not mind spending hours to make it. But it's not always that I have the time or the ingredients in day to day life. It is also not always necessary. Sometimes you just need a tasty stock for the daily food. This is a miso inspired "fake stock".
